Brenda M. Crichlow Artistic Director/ Instructor |
Brenda is one of the busiest, dynamic, and most versatile
women in Vancouver's film industry. As Artistic Director of Crichlow Actors' Studio Inc.
(CASt), she brings more than 20 years of experience in film, television, and radio as a
professional actor and instructor. Brenda's background cultivated
CASt's excellent reputation among industry
professionals, peers, and students alike. The aim of the studio is to foster capable
and confident actors of all ages in a safe and nurturing environment.
Brenda leads drama workshops as an educator, organizes film industry panels, and has worked as a child wrangler for companies such as Young & Rubicam and Tyco. Brenda’s passion for young people has led to work as an onset acting coach for shows such as Spooky House starring Ben Kingsley and Mercedes Ruehl, Just Deal, and Elf with James Caan, Mary Steenburgen, and Will Ferrell, and as a sub on Things We Lost in the Fire starring Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro. She is also an ongoing instructor of the Performer's Orientation course developed in partnership with Union of British Columbia Performers/ACTRA and the British Columbia Institute of Film Professionals at the University of British Columbia. Brenda is a champion for mentoring youth through the arts. She co-created the Gloria Crichlow Memorial Scholarship, an award established in honor of her mother for young actors that exemplify an outstanding and unwavering commitment to the craft of acting. In 2004, Brenda sponsored the Gordon Edwin Science Scholarship for young actors who also demonstrate achievement in the study of science. Brenda is committed to encouraging her students to keep striving towards their dreams and to pursue excellence. A graduate of the "Studio 58" Theatre Arts program in Vancouver, Brenda has merited guest starring and lead roles for film and television, voice-overs, radio, hosting, and commercials. In the last year, her film and television appearances include Jeremiah, Smallville, Twilight Zone, Vice, Blade, Dead Zone, Firewall, and Good Boy. Her movie-of-the-week credits include Five Desperate Hours, Y2K, Someone to Love Me, and Who Killed My Daughter. |

Dolores Drake Instructor: Introduction to Acting |
Dolores is a graduate of the
"Studio 58" Theatre Arts program in Vancouver and has worked
across the country in theatre, film, and television. Her stage
credits include Lend Me A Tenor and Born Yesterday
for the Theatre Northwest, Thirteen Hands
and Then There Were None for the Arts Club Theatre, Cosi for the Globe Theatre,
and Shirley Valentine for the Sunshine Theatre,
WCTC, Theatre Northwest, and STC. She has been nominated twice for a
Jessie Award.
Dolores's film credits include work with directors Costa Graves, Joel Schumnder, Bill Forseyth, and Anne Wheller. She has worked on several feature films, including New Cardiff, M.V.P. I & II, Trixie, Carpool, and most recently Chestnut: Hero of Central Park. Dolores also has extensive television credits, including principal, lead, and starring roles in Mentors, Beggars & Choosers, Breaker High, Adventures of Shirley Holmes, Ice Angel, The Spiral Staircase, and Ratz. She has served on the board of the WPAS, an organization providing professional workshops for Vancouver actors. As a teacher, director, and writer, Dolores has produced three plays for youth called The Pitt Stop, Just Too Much, and Mother's Day. She also wrote, produced, and starred in her own one woman play Randall's Wake. Recent director's credits include Lady Drinks the Blues, Love Letters, and The Boy Who Wanted To Be Julie Andrews. Dolores has been teaching and coaching for 8 years through the Vancouver Youth Theatre, Theatrix, and Crichlow Actors' Studio (CASt), and is in demand as a private coach. |

Kendall Cross
has Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in stage acting from the University
of British Columbia and a teaching diploma from Simon Fraser
University. She has been teaching young adults for the
last 6 years and continues to do so while
expanding her own acting career.
Kendall's credits span over 10 years and include recent roles in the feature films Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Elektra, The Butterfly Effect, X-Men II, Paycheck and Santa Claus II; and the television series The Dead Zone, Smallville, Stargate and Andromeda.

Sean began acting at the age of ten as the Artful
Dodger in the musical theatrical production of Oliver. He developed a
keen interest in comedy and has performed improvisation and stand-up comedy.
Working in both Toronto and Vancouver, Sean has appeared in over seventy roles
for film, television, radio and has numerous voice-overs to his credit.
Sean is the co-founder of Underdog Productions, where he writes and directs for commercials and independent productions You can see him as a lead in the film Blackwoods or Anne Wheeler’s Gemini- nominated film, Suddenly Naked. He also had a recurring role in the TV series Higher Ground. Recent appearances include guest starring roles on The Chris Isaak Show and Beyond Belief. Sean's latest credits include principle roles on L Word, Huff, The Collector, Dead Zone, Dead Like Me, and The New Beachcombers Christmas Movie. He also wrote, produced, and directed Back of the Class, and produced and directed Superstitions. Sean co-wrote, co-produced, and directed Lactose Intolerant for the 48 Hour Film Competition. Sean is currently preparing a movie course with an adult class that will shoot in September. |

Brenda has worked in the industry
for just over two years and has appeared in more than 40 commercials. She
also works as a company child wrangler for such clients as Young & Rubicam,
Tyko, Nickelodeon, Hasbro and, most recently, the New York-based
production teams of N Ur Eye Films and X-1 Films. Brenda coaches children
privately for film and television auditions. In addition to her credits
and other activities, she is the on-set dialogue coach for Max Peters,
series regular on Hope Island.
Brenda's television and film credits include The Spiral Staircase, Ice Angel, Best Actress, and Cold Feet. |
